The C-E Prose Translation From The Perspective Of Harmonious Translation

As a book of epistolary prose, Dear Andreas is composed of36letters co-written byLung Ying-Tai, a Taiwan author and her son, Andreas Walther. Based on the translation ofits prelude, Letter Nine, Letter Sixteen, Letter Seventeen, and Letter Twenty-eight, thispaper tries to make a study of the basic strategies of Chinese-English prose translationfrom the perspective of Harmonious Translation Theory.This paper consists of four chapters. Chapter1is a brief introduction of Dear Andreasand the Harmonious Translation Theory. Chapter2is a description of the translationprocess which includes the difficulties the author met and the solutions the author adopted.Chapter3is an analysis of the basic strategies of Chinese-English prose translation fromthe five aspects of Harmonious Translation Theory, including the relation between thetranslator and the original text, the relation between the translator and the target text, therelation between the target text and the original text, the relation inside the target text, andthe relation between the target text and the target readers. Chapter4is a conclusion.
