Research On The Writing Mentality Of Su Zhe In His Later Life

Su Zhe lived in Yingchang in his later years, and called himself Old Fogy by Ying River. He made friends with pines, cypresses, bamboos and drinks, learned from Guan Ning and Yan Hui, devoted himself to meditating, enjoyed reading books and teaching his children and lived in seclusion in landscapes. So that he could pay attention to his own moral uplift. In view of his later years’ state of writing, after suffering great pain and trial of relegation, his mentality obviously changed. His writing’s contents tended to daily life, and expression was more obscurity. Systematically investigating of his writing mentality in his later years is a better way to know more about Su Zhe.In view of literature surroundings of North-Song Dynasty, after death of those famous poets such as Qin Guan, Su Shi, Chen Shidao and Huang Tingjian, Su Zhe became the actual leader of the literature. So research on the writing mentality in his later years is particularly helpful to know the literature surroundings during the reign of Emperor Song Huizong. Life and writing approach in his later years can be divided by the event of his back to north in the third year of Yuanfu. When researching on his writing mentality, carding the complex mental traits comes first. And the mentality of intelligentsia in later period of North-Song Dynasty is known. He choosed living in seclusion for escaping, and just had to be generous.In the third part, it’s expatiated that he advocated Guan Youan and Yan Hui and showed his dream of life style and life meaning. Guan Ning guided him to know the condition and how to set up himself. Yan Hui guided him to peace in his later years.In the final part, it’s expatiated that homeless Su Zhe devoted all his attention to home, both real home and psycho-home.
