Singapore is the smallest island nation in Southeast Asia. Indonesia is its largest neighbor, isthe largest country in Southeast Asia. Singapore`s geopolitical has great disparity with Indonesia.Developing relations with Indonesia, Singapore has maintained a very cautious attitude. Fromthe founding of Singapore,in order to survive and develop,Singapore actively create conditionsto improve its diplomatic relations with Indonesia. But it has the weak results.1970s, theSingapore government pursue good-neighborly foreign policy with Indonesia,Indonesiagradually eliminate the bias of Singapore.Singapore’s policy has paid off,Singapore andIndonesia continue to strengthen their cooperation and exchanges. But,there are some inherentcontradictions or controversial issues between Singapore and Indonesia.in the process ofinteraction of Singapore and Indonesia,it often appears some confrontation andconflict.Singapore government can often timely and effectively interpreted its own intentions, toavoid further escalation of the conflict with Indonesia.Cooperation is the mainstream betweenthe two countries in theirs development Under the policy of Singapore,the relations betweenIndonesia and Singapore has experienced a process that from conflict to cooperation.Practice has proved that,the policy of Singapore is generally successful to Indonesia.in linewith its national conditions,it provides a convenient for the prosperity of Singapore.In this article,at first,i sort out and analyze the content and progress of the Lee Kuan Yew era and post-LeeKuan Yew of Singapore,Indonesia policy,then brief summary of policy effects in Singapore,followed analysis the reasons of Singapore`s policy to Indonesia,the last general the problemofthe policy of Singapore,and the revelation that made for author.
