Because of the special geographical and strategical location, Indonesia was oneof the significant factors to be considered seriously when Australia formulating itsdiplomatical policies.After establishing diplomatic relations,their foreign relationshipis troubled by all kinds of contradiction.The main reason of the discord deriving fromthe deferences between their political,economic,culture and history.During the period of1963-65, the time of Indonesian confrontation,the attitudeof Australia toward “Crush Malaysia”provided by Indonesia had experienced thechange from active mediation to military confrontation.Even so, Australia restated itsdesire of maintaining amicable relations with Indonesia constantly.This paperdiscusses, from the point of the Australia’s international interests and security, thedetails of Australia’s diplomatical and military policy towards Indonesia under theinfluence of American and England during1963-66and its influence on Australiaitself, the bilateral relations of Australia and Indonesia and the region of SoutheastAsian.
