The21st century is the century of the Pacific. The U.S. Asia-Pacificstrategy has been adjusted several times after the Cold War, but thekey point is the same: to strengthen cooperation with Japan, South Korea,the Philippines, Australia and other allies to promote cooperation amongthe United States-Japan-Australia,United States-Japan-Korea, emphasizesthe core position of the US-Japan alliance in the U.S. Asia-PacificSecurity Strategy,support the development of a multilateral securitymechanism in the Asia-Pacific region,stressed that the expansion of freemarkets and the implementation of the democratic system. Australia isone of the allies of the United States, the southern anchor of the Pacific,and the policy of the United States to Australia is to promote thedevelopment of relations between the United States and Australia. Twodecades after the Cold War, the United States has strengthened militaryalliance with Australia, to expand the content and breadth of militarycooperation. In2011, Darwin military harbor was based in Australia byUS, which promote the bilateral relations to a new height, and strengthenthe U.S. military presence and political influence in the Asia-Pacificregion. The United States and Australia carried out a series of securityand development in counter-terrorism and peacekeeping as the core ofthe cooperation to maintain the stability and security in the Asia-Pacificregion. In addition, United States also expanded the bilateral securityalliance of Japan-Australia to trilateral dialogue on security strategy,to achieve the complementary advantages between South anchor and theNorth anchor.
