The ancient tea and horse road is based on the exchange of tea and horses. It covers Sichuanprovince, Yunnan province, Tibet province in China and some countries in South Asia, SoutheastAsia. The ancient tea and horse road has three main routes, which were started four or fivethousand years ago. The common currency on the road is the silver, India silver, rupee, etc.Thetrading system is established in the Tang dynasty,and flourished in the Ming Dynasty. Whatmost important is its fast development during World War II. The trading mechanism is the mostperfect in Ming dynasty. The ancient tea and horse road made a contribution for thecommunication between China and India. It also made a great contribution to China’s unity aswell. During World War II, there is an economic circle formed by the trade road, which containsChina, India, Myanmar and many other countries. There are two main trade road route duringWorld War II. It brings a lot of goods in short supply which benefits China a lot. The modern teaand horse road is partly formed by the ancient one and partly by the modern highway. Theancient tea and horse road not only enhanced the relationship between China and Southeast Asia,but also played an important role in the Second World War. All in all, this article explains thecontribution which the ancient tea and horse road has made from an international perspective.The ancient tea and horse road will continue to play a role in the international communications inthe world.
