In the history of the development of human civilization,the emergence of ancient road civilization is an important milestone.Whether it is land or water transportation relics,ancient roads carry the progress and development of human civilization.It has played a very important role in the formation of interactive relationships between transnational and inter-ethnic business houses,handicrafts,population and marriage customs,religious culture,and emotional concepts.The villages around the ancient roads are important carriers of ancient road civilization.In the process of modernization and globalization,like other countries in the world today,Nepal,especially the Nepal Himalayas,is undergoing tremendous changes in its ethnic composition,livelihood,language and culture,and ethnic relations.Many ancient roads in history have now become motorable roads,and the villages and towns along the ancient roads are facing new development opportunities.At the same time,due to the vision of the Chinese government's "One Belt,One Road" initiative,many villages on the China Nepal Road are also Ushered in new vitality,Jomsom Village,located in the mountains of northwestern Nepal,is one of them.Previous studies on Nepal's ancient road civilization have mostly focused on the single ethnic group along the ancient road and ignored the social and cultural changes and the basic facts of multi-ethnic and multi-cultural society.This article takes Jomsom Village in northwestern Nepal as the research object.Through field investigations in ethnology and anthropology,using research methods such as participatory observation and in-depth talks,it discussed and study the social and cultural changes and characteristics of Jomsom Village from the aspects of livelihood,marriage and family and ethnic relations.The thesis consists of three parts:introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction consists of four sections,mainly introducing the research background of this thesis,the significance of the topic,the literature and research results related to the theme,and the research methods.The main text is composed of four chapters:The first chapter introduces the general situation of the field,including geographical environment,historical evolution,population language,ethnic composition and religion.The second chapter discusses the livelihood of the village and its changes,as well as the changes that Jomsom village has experienced after an initiation of the"One Belt One Road" vision,and the hopes of the local villagers for the future.The third chapter discusses the marriage and family status of village,including family type and structure.The fourth chapter mainly discusses ethnic contact and interaction,cultural contact,and conflicts of values and interests of villagers.The concluding remarks mainly discussed the relationship between ancient road and village,the social significance of internal cooperation,and sudden livelihoods,including the co-production of cross-border villagers brought about by the Belt and Road Initiative.Through the ethnographic research of Jomsom village,I hope to provide experience and reference for developing countries and localities that develop their economy through roads.
