Comparative Study Of Copyright Mode Of Digital Library

Thanks to the maturity of digital technology and network technology, digital library realizes the update of traditional library in network environment and develops swiftly. With the two-decade development, digital library provides more and more readers with information services and become an indispensable and important part of public cultural life. However, during the process of digital library’s provision of information services, copyright issues and conflicts of interest constantly crop up, which becomes a major threat to the healthy development of digital library industry. Therefore, it is necessary to systematically organize copyright mode of digital library and analyze potential copyright risk and the respective protective strategy of copyright from key points. This paper deeply analyzes the associative degree between the establishment of system and copyright mode and explores the program which optimizes copyright mode. Besides, taking Google digital library (the world’s largest digital library) and Chaoxing digital library (the world’s largest Chinese digital library) as object of study, this paper provides suggestion for theoretical perfection from practical perspective by means of comparative study. Finally, it suggests the perfection of copyright mechanism relevant with digital library from the perspective of innovation of licensing system, an expansion of scope of fair use and statutory licensing system.
