Alfred Sao-ke Sze is a famous diplomat during the period of the Republic ofChina.The most active and brilliant period for diplomacy of him is after the establishmentof Republic of China to the Anti-Japanese War.He has served as a diplomatic envoy andambassador.On the behalf of the Republic of China,he took part in the Paris PeaceConference,Washington Conference,League of Nations and other important internationalmeetings.He participants and witnesses the major diplomatic activities during this period.During the period of the Republic of China, it is the turning point of China’s modernhistory, the abolition of unequal treaties,the recovery of the economic rights become thetrend of The Times, Alfred Sao-ke Sze as agents, in the fashion front, for the abolition ofthe unequal treaties.He refuses the contracts which made during the Paris PeaceConference,and represents Chinese government to complain to the League of Nations afterMukden Incident.He strives for the support of America to solve the Issues of Shandongduring Washington Conference.He recommends that it should be America to answer forEngland and Japan’s protest on the dispute of radio stations among China,America andJapan.And he reiterates the Open Door Policy in China.During the financial crisis which caused by the Sliver Policy of American,he makes a great contribution to our monetaryreform,foreign exchange reserve and the Silver Agreements.Under the limit of thedomestic chaos and suppressed in the world, Alfred Sao-ke Sze works hard on themaintenance of national interests and abolish the unequal treaties.Many of his effortsdoesn’t achieve the results,but all the relevant negotiations laid a solid foundation for ourfuture.
