Mao Zedong’s Military Dialectics Thought is a classic in applying the dialectical and historical materialism to military creatively. With deeply understanding of the dialectical and historical materialism, Mao wrote a great number of philosophical works, such as On Contradiction, On Practice, A Single Spark Can Start A Prairie Fire, On Protracted War, and finally formed his complete thinking system. All these efforts have facilitated the development of Marxism in China. As our country’s remarkable military thinker, Mao’s military dialectics thought is the quintessence of.Mao’s military thinking as well as an important part of Mao Zedong Thought. It has inherited and developed Marxism-Leninism by combining the theory with actual conditions of our country. After a study on Mao’s masterpieces and some research on his thought domestically and worldly, it is clear to aware the essence of war and the manifestation of revolutionary war in Mao’s view.Based on an understanding on Mao’s writings, Marxism and some relating military theories, this thesis tries to find some point to support the author’s argumentation by analyzing some military cases in Chinese modern history. As the the dialectical relationship of contradiction between subject, object and a contradiction of war is the difficult point of philosophy, this paper endeavors to explicate the relationship between strategy and tactics, attact and defense. With the spirit of upholding wisdom, the purpose of this paper lies in learning from the intelligence of Mao Zedong in wars.
