On Deng Xiaoping’s Explorations And Contribution Of The CPC’s Building Of The Southwest Region During The Early Years Of The PRC

From November1949to July1952, Deng Xiaoping headed Southwest China. During thisperiod, below the right leader of the Party Central Committee, Deng Xiaoping undertooksome explorations in terms of the Southwest military struggle, the construction of people’sstate power, Party building, southwest economic recovery and development, national workdevelopment，and also made considerable achievements and experience.At that time, in the southwest of China, party members and cadres were woefullyinadequate, and party organization was almost lost under the destruction of the Kuomintang.At the same time, there were numerous minorities in southwest area, the ethnic gap keptgetting wide, the social and economic development in ethnic minority areas was seriouslylopsided. In such an area that the Party’s base was weak, party organization need newconstruction or rebuilt essentially, and the ethical issues were highly complex. Deng Xiaopingsummed up the experience after a long process of in-depth study, and it made a theoreticalcontribution to the ruling party construction.This paper focuses on Deng Xiaoping’s exploration and contribution of party organizationin southwest area. By discussing the party organization’s different situation at different stagesand the characteristics reflected in southwest area, the paper interpreted Deng Xiaoping’sexploration and practice of party organization in heading southwest China. In these two yearsand eight months time, under the guide of the Mao Zedong’s party construction thought andcombing the actual situation of Southwest China, Deng Xiaoping put forward the constructivemeasures in pertinence, and promoted the development of Southwest’s party construction.Basing on summary and analysis to practice, the paper further discussed and summarized thetheoretical attribution of Deng Xiaoping’s party construction thought. The thought includesseveral parts, that is, the thought of developing party members and promoting a cadre fromindustry workers and national minority bold in practical work; the thought of clutching party’sideological and educational work, setting strict demands on party members, and ensuing thatthe person joined the party in ideology really; the thought of valuing and enhancing theconduct propaganda of the party works, and then, improving the Party’s governance capability;the thought of solving national conflict exactly, ensuing that party building has a favorableenvironment...
