A Cultural Needs Analysis On The New Generation Of The Rural Migrant Workers In Dongguan

Since the1980s, a number of rural population stretched from the land and rushed to thecity, thus formed the so called “migration rush”. Up until now, the number of migrationworker is increasing, and it is becoming younger in average age, and those people who wereborn in the8os and90s are forming the major proportion in the rural workers. It ismeaningful to meet the need of the rural workers and take a deep research in the factors thatrestrict the satisfaction of them, and come up with some advice to improve those issues,enhance the property of rural workers, so that it can help push the urbanization anddevelopment, for the best of building a harmonious society between the rural areas and urbanareas in Dongguan. And it is of great value of theoretical and realistic meaning.On the basis of the references from different bibliography, this study collects materialsthrough questionnaire survey and in-dept interview to know more about the rural workers inthe generation, their scientific and cultural knowledge, recreation and entertainment,professional skills and participation in cultural life, we can get more information of the ruralworkers and thus know more about the rural migration development and supply condition ofculture. We have to analyze the factors restricting the satisfaction of the migrant workersfrom the government, enterprises, society and the rural workers themselves. The governmentcan set as an example, the society can work as well as building the public cultural servicesystem to improve the cultural construction and incentive system for cultural creation andencourage all walks of life to join us, in the hope of taking more consideration to the ruralworkers, at the same time, driving the corporate culture to a harmonious development,providing cultural products. I hope all walks from life in Dongguan can provide us with atheoretical basis to enhance them with a sense of belongings and their rights and interests canbe fully protected.Last but not least, in the process of pursuing a harmonious society under the communistparty, the dilemma among the rural workers has to be solved, Dongguan has to adhere to thescientific outlook on development, with the attitude of seeking truth from facts, to meet theneed of rural workers, so that it can come up with some strategic advice in solving problems.
