On Zhang Wentian’s Thought On Cultivating Party Spirit During The New-Democratic Revolution

As the important early leader of CPC and Marxist theorists, Zhang Wentian not only make great contribution to the cause of the Party and the state, but also set a shining example to the following generations both in the theory and practice of the cultivating party spirit.Especially during the new-democratic revolution,Zhang Wentian took the profound reflection and exploration on cultivating party spirit, and formed distinctive thought,which left precious spiritual wealth to the party and the country. Therefore,to take a deep study on zhang Wentian’s thought on cultivating party spirit during the new-democratic revolution has great practical significance to strengthen current party members’ideal and conviction and improve the scientific level of construction of the party,as well as to build harmonious socialist society.During the first half of20th century, China’s semi-colonial and semi-feudal social nature had not changed.The Chinese people lives were filled with untold suffering.In order to realize national independence and people’s liberation,the CPC led Chinese people to carry out extremely hard and bitter thirty years’new-democratic revolution.Zhang Wentian’s thought on cultivating party spirit during the new-democratic revolution just formed against such background.The Marxism-Leninism theories of cultivating party spirit and other CPC’s first generation of leaders’thoughts on cultivating party spirit,as well as Chinese traditional culture of Confucianism formed the important sources of Zhang Wentian’s thought on cultivating party spirit during the new-democratic revolution. His thought was derived from the practice, and developed along with the development of practice.Its development process included four different periods:form1919to1925his thought moved towards consciousness, form1925to1935his thought weaved its way, form1935to1940his thought became comprehensive increasingly and form1940to1949his thought developed in an all-round way.Zhang Wentian’s thought has rich content with covering all aspects of cultivating party spirit, the essences of his thought are as follows.Firstly, the party spirit can’t be viewed as abstracted and isolated. Secondly, to strengthen cultivating party spirit is the inevitable requirement to adapt to the revolutionary situation and to improve the party members’ quality.Thirdly,party members should improve ideological initiative unceasingly and raise their level of cultivating party spirit comprehensively through many kind of ways,including to recognize "the present situation" correctly through strengthening political cultivation;to strengthen theoretical cultivation through raising "the quality of learning Marxism-Leninism" conscientiously; to strengthen moral cultivation through attaching great importance to "the manners of dealing with people"; to strengthen disciplinary cultivation through maintaining "party’s solidarity and unity" consciously; and to strengthen stylistic cultivation through highlighting "changing the style".etc.Zhang Wentian’s thought on cultivating party spirit during the new-democratic revolution has rich content and profound meaning. It also has lots of beneficial enlightenment for current party members to strengthen cultivating party spirit:First and foremost,canying out the ideal faith education work continually is helpful to strengthen political cultivation;Secondly, persisting in arming all the party members with the Scientific Outlook on development,which is conducive to strengthen theoretical cultivation; Thirdly,taking active practice of "acting in accordance with party spirit treasuring morality, playing an exemplary role "helps to strengthen moral cultivation;Moreover,enforcing party discipline and upholding democratic centralism is helpful to strengthen disciplinary cultivation; Last but not the least, keeping in close contact with the masses and deepening the anticorruption campaign is beneficial to strengthen stylistic cultivation.
