The people’s jurysystem involves many aspects of content, and to the value and function realizing ofthe people’s jury system, the selection of people’s assessors is of vital importance, it isalso the current problems more truly reflect the value of the jury system, and thedemocratic people’s jury selection system reform is the center of this paper. Althoughthe western countries jury system established in the capitalist economic basis, but it isclosely related with the market economy, as well as its long history tradition, make ithas an important significance to the people’s jury system of our country. At the sametime, our country people’s assessors reform, not only should take the advantages ofwestern countries, but also should be combined with China’s national conditions, Juryselection system and it advantages and disadvantages are closely linked with theperfect degree of the around various social system. To reform the jury selectionsystem, will inevitably find the breakthrough point from the surrounding socialsystem. Therefore, this article will contrast analyze our people’s juror selection systempresent situation and the jury selection system of representative western countries, onthe basic of adapting to the practical needs of the social transformation, learningexperience from western country’s jury system. This article analyze the reformreasons from the political, economic, legal, cultural reform necessity and feasibilityaspects, and give a reform suggestion from the people’s juror elective object,organization, procedures and the mechanism of form a complete set up. Through thisreform, forming a more representative elective object; and making NPC as the mainelect institution, the court as the assist institution; besides, establishment themanagement, the training and the rewards and punishment mechanism of people’s jury.As a result, improving the people’s jury system in our country, and ensuring thepeople’s participation and supervision to the state justice.
