Research On Building Easy Environments For The Disabled In Shenyang City

Barrier-free environment is the basic condition for the disabled to step out and participate in social activities. Its Accessibility level is not only one of the important evaluation criteria of overall quality and spiritual content of the urban public environment, but also reflects the city’s civilization level. Other than providing a safe, convenient and comfortable living environment, barrier-free environment also gives the disabled the social respect and love. Based on reviewing the concept and development history of barrier-free environment, the thesis makes a case study on Shenyang city. By use of literature research method and empirical tools, the paper first explores the problems existing in Shenyang’s barrier-free environment construction, and then analyzes the reasons. Finally we give some countermeasures to solve the problems. Through the systematic study of urban barrier-free environment, we hope to help people deeply understand the problems faced in the accessibility construction, and contribute all social means such as making policies, supervising democratically, maintaining systematically and popularizing widely to build a convenient, humanistic barrier-free environment.
