Research Of Barrier-free Environment Construction

With the development of economy and the change of people’s concepts, greater importance has been gradually attached on barrier-free design and facility, as well as low-carbon life style and construction. The construction of barrier-free environment not only bridges the elderly, the disabled or someone in need of help with the society, but also give opportunities to the vulnerable groups to share basic safeguard that provided by the society. These constructions, in other words, contain the social caring for the disabled and the elderly, embody the people-oriented thought, promote the development of public welfare and provide the safeguard for the sustainable development of the society.This research mainly focus on the background, the early research and the research significance of the construction of barrier-free environment, try to lay a solid foundation for the next step of the study by the literature review and the analysis of current situation of China and abroad about the construction of barrier-free environment. By filtering the National Specification such as the construction of barrier-free design specification and regulations and the standard barrier-free demonstration city as the breakthrough point, this research comprehensively study the content of the barrier-free environment, such as the construction of the barrier-free infrastructures, the accessibility of public facilities, barrier-free transportation, information and communication, system of laws and regulations, organization management, the disabled social security system and barrier-free society consensus.These nine dimensions mentioned above have built the dual-core evaluation index system of the construction of barrier-free environment on both spiritual and material aspects.Information and data from this research are got through empirical analysis methods, such as investigation, questionnaire, expert interview, and second-hand data. We then evaluate the information by the nine-dimension evaluation index system. We study the current construction situation and the existing problems of barrier-free environment of Zhenjiang comprehensively. By referencing the advanced international research, the evaluation index system and the general pattern and theory of public goods supply, we put forward some targeted, constructive and feasible proposals to perfect the barrier-free environment construction in Zhenjiang.The research contains five chapters which listed as follows:First Chapter, Introduction. This chapter briefly introduces the research background, research origin and research significance of barrier-free environment construction, barrier-free research status in China and abroad as well as the literature review.Second Chapter, Research Design. This chapter covers the research objectives and problem network, theory analysis angle, research methodology, the overall research ideas and innovations.Third Chapter, Related Concepts and the Evaluation Index System.This chapter covers the related concepts of barrier-free environment, the development mode of barrier-free construction and the specific content of the nine dimensions of barrier-free environment construction.Fourth Chapter, Empirical Analysis of Zhenjiang Case. This chapter covers data collection methods, empirical data analysis and evaluation of the status of Zhenjiang.Fifth Chapter and optimizes some construction proposals of Zhenjiang barrier-free environment.In short, the purpose of the barrier-free environment construction is to protect the interests of the vulnerable groups from both humanity and scientific aspects. We hope to provide a good environment from every inch of the room, from household items to the production equipment. By this way, we can share the rights of the study, work and social life with them forever.
