After the end of the Cold War, Japan-Soviet relations became into the Japan-Russia relations in nearly20years, bilateral relations have good times and bad, showing unstable characteristics. Development of Japan-Russia relations in Asia, especially Northeast Asia has far, research has important implications for the Japan-Russia relations. This paper has six chapters:Chapter1is the introduction, mainly on the research background, purpose and significance, and describes the research status and results of the Japan-Russia relations, including the study of history of Japan’s relations with Russia, Japan and the Soviet Union, and Japan’s relationship with Russia study; Chapter2introduces the basic concepts of international relations and the basic content of the influencing factors research and development trends of the Japan-Russia relations, but also involves the same time, the concept of the Japan-Russia relations as well as the basic content, review relations with Russia and Japan-Soviet Relations; Chapter3Russian leaders term the basic criteria for the classification of the Japan-Russia relations is divided into three stages:the Japan-Russia relations in the Yeltsin era, Putin’s relations with Russia and the Medvedev era of the history of the development; Japan-Russia relations.
