At present, economic system, social structure, interests distribution and notions are undergoing profound changes as a result of opening up.But on the other hand, social conflicts are increasingly manifesting themselves.Diversity in the distribution of social interests has increased new problems which affect social harmony. The new situation and new mission have generated new demands and challenges for our party and government. And a good channel for expressing opinions has traditionally been an important sign which is used to evaluate whether a country is democratic or not. China’s system of Multi_party cooperation and political consultation has provided the foundation and guarantee for the establishment of an effective mechanism for expression of interest. The Chinese people’s political consultative conference is an organization of Chinese People’s patriotic united front, It is an important institution of the system of Multi_party cooperation and political consultation, It is the vital form for promoting socialist democracy in our country’s political life. As the important way to discharge the responsibility of participation in political and democratic supervision, the Chinese people’s political consultative conference’s role in fostering institutional reform and establishing a harmonious society has become more and more crucial, Besides, its impact on formulating policies is increasing.Therefore, the article is an attempt to analyse how the political consultative conference’s work in responding to the interests and demands of the people has influenced formulating policies, and how to make full use of the advantages of the political conference to forster scientific and democratic decision making of our party and government.
