The main solvent in water-based ink is water, there is no VOC emission in using course, sohealthy of researcher and printing operator is effective protected. Water-based ink is thepollution-free “green” printing materials accord with environmental protection, becoming thehotspot and focus in printing material study field. In case of higher surface tension of water-basedink, the wetting and adhesion performance of water-based ink on low energy surface; at the sametime, the wetting of pigment surface is poorer, so the dispersion properties of pigment reduced, andits development was under the restriction. So, the development of water-based ink plays animportant role in promoting green printing.The sample of water-based ink used in roller ball pen compounded with different kinds andcontent of components. Research the influence of performance such as wettability, adhesion anddrying speed made by different components; the experimental was designed in order to optimize theingredient and obtain good ink formulations. The influencing factor of pigment dispersion inwater-based inkjet ink was discussed. The inkjet ink was made with different kinds and componentof resin and surfactant while the dispersion of pigment meets the requirement. The performance ofink such as surface tension and viscosity was tested; in order to obtain good performancewater-based inkjet ink, the experimental was designed to optimizing the ingredient.The results show that the cosolvent, resin and surfactant have great influence on variousperformance of water-based ink. In water-based roller ball pen ink, the kinds of resin and thefunction of adhesion promoter with resin have great influence on adhesion. The roller ball pen inkhas better adhesion while the ink made by adhesion promoter C-9901and resin A4; surfactantsadded can obviously improve the wettability of water-based ink on low-energy surface, goodwettability is the prerequisite of good adhesion of ink, different kinds of cosolvent has differentaffective on the performance of ink. In water-based inkjet ink, grinding condition, the proportion ofpigment and resin and dispersant kind and content are the important factors to influence the pigmentdispersed performance, while the proportion of pigment and resin and dispersant is1:1.5, thepigment has good dispersed performance; appropriate type of surfactant can improve the surfacetension and viscosity of inkjet ink, the kind of resin has great influence on viscosity, surface tensionand drying speed of ink, different kinds of resin has different affective on the performance of inkjetink.
