The environment is the basic element for the human beings to survive, prouduce and live. Environmental issues have become global issues of common concern. Conservation of energy resources, protection of the ecological environment, is the inherent requirements to implement the scientific concept of development, and achieve sustainable development. Domestic research for environmental pollution control is developing, China’s worsening environmental problems make study extremely urgent, China has attached great importance to ecological construction and environmental protection as a basic national policy. Implementation of large-scale development of the western region is as an important measure to strengthen environmental construction. Through the joint efforts of the people of all ethnic groups under the leadership of the party, environmental protection has made gratifying achievements, and the environment at some areas has improved significantly. However, due to the natural, historical, and man-made reasons, China’s environmental situation is still very grim. Source of strength in the construction of the environment has never been rooted in the society. Besides relying on the party and the government to increase efforts to protect the environmental governance, it is also necessary to mobilize the active participation of the general public. This is consistent with the condition of our country at this stage, and is completely fundamental to improve the environment. With the development of the deepening of reform and opening up, the economic base of the Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture of southwest minority areas, institutional environment, social conditions have undergone profound changes.Firstly, this article studies the dynamics of environment at home and abroad, and through the literature and the author’s field visits, generalizes the current situation of environmental pollution of the Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture of ethnic areas. Through case analysis of the Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture environment, the study reflects the background of environmental issues and many other issues of the Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture and analyzes the causes and characteristics of it, and finally puts forward the research of environmental pollution control countermeasures. Environmental pollution control, protection and economic development of Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture of has a certain theoretical and practical significance. To build a well-off society comprehensively, and promote coordinated and sustainable development, it is necessary to ensure enough resources and the environment for the future. Steadily to consolidate the economic development in the current to good critical period, all regions and departments at all levels should take measures to strongly adhere to emission reduction, energy conservation in a more prominent, more important position, and accelerate the development of renewable energy, clean coal, smart grid, new energy vehicles, carbon capture and other advanced technologies to accelerate the pace of research energy-saving, energy resource intensive and economical use of the characteristics of the new economic growth point, in order to provide a new impetus to achieve sustainable economic and social development.This dissertation adopts the research methods of literature research and survey combined, to study the specific methods of operation of the focus on environmental protection.
