With the advantages of high precision, high efficiency and high rigidity, ball screw is widely used in the field of aviation, defense and civil. However, compared with developed countries, the domestic ball screw is still poor in overall performance, inadequate propagated, and only fastened on low product market. Thus, the research of the rapid design platform’s development and the analysis of mechanical property for ball screw are greatly needed. In the background of the national science and technology project, a collaborative method for analyzing and designing of ball screw is presented. And the study of rapid design platform program is accomplished which belonging to the area of application engineering field.Above all, the development process of the platform for ball screws’rapid designing is introduced in this dissertation. From the interests of company’s development and market’s needs, after the detailed functional requirements and modules is analyzed, the designing work for the overall user interface and the data interface of the platform is achieved. Aiming at the platform’s development, the class library features for the Open CASCADE are in-depth learnt, which is used as the geometry kernel to generate the detailed feature of a series of three-dimensional ball screw structure. From this, the ways of exporting three-dimensional model and generating two-dimensional views are investigated. After that, the calculating process mathematics model of selection that based on the company’s products is established, and then the select functional module of the platform for specific company is completed which in use of MFC application program. As for the aspect of the displaying of three dimensional solid, it is competed by embedded the OpenSenceGraph technology into the framework program of wxWidgets. At last, some ball screws are built and displayed successfully by using the quick button on the platform, means that the owerall program is running well.Subsequently, in order to improve the designers’ability of using CAE\CAD software, the study of mechanical property is carried on. Firstly, a contact mechanics model of single arc ball-Raceway for single nut ball screw is established. Base on the normal used software which called PROE and ANSYS workbench, a synergistic combination method of ball screw’s designing and analyzing is presented. At last, by compared simulating results with theoretic calculations, the accuracy of the FEM’s process has been verified.
