With the high-speed development of the world’s emerging economies in recent years, large amounts of the iron ore resources exploitationleds to a lot of the iron tailings discharge.Iron tailings discharge which cause many ecological and environmental problems, such as occupation of land, environmental pollution and so on. Meanwhile, the discharge of the iron tailings also causes the waste of resources due to the large amount of the valuable constituent. Developing and useing iron tailings as the secondary resource not only can solve many ecological and environmental problems caused by iron tailings, but also can improve the utilization of iron ore resources. Therefore, the countries all over the world have drawn the attention to the technology of developing and useing iron tailings as secondary resources.The research object of this dissertation was the iron tailings,with TFe grade of17.23%,64.72%-37μm size fraction content and iron distribution rate of79.37%in-37μm size fraction, from Luoci Iron Mine. Therefore, tailing iron has the feature of low grade, fine grain size and high iron distribution rate in the micro size fraction. The available iron mineral in the tailings are refractory hematite, limonite. The gangue minerals contain the quartz, silicate minerals, dolomite and carbonate minerals. Through preconcentration discarding tailings test and improving quality of subconcentrate test, the classification-gravity separation-reverse flotation process flowsheet and it’s optimum process parameters were confirmed.The Tailings was divided into-37μm size fraction and+37μm size fraction by screen, then shake table and entrifugal concentrator test were conducted separately.The optimum process parametersof+37μm size fraction shake tabletest were grinding fineness of60%-37μm,10mmstroke and420time/min frequency of stroke.The optimum process parameters of-37μm size fraction centrifugal concentrator test were15%concentration of feed ore,700rpm drum velocity2.0L/min rinse waterand2.0min ore feeding time.Under the optimal process of gravity separation discarding tailings,thegravity separation discarding tailings test obtained the subconcentrate with the iron grade of35.63%and recovery of58.86%and discarded tailings with yields rate of71.60%and the grade of9.91%. The optimum process parameters of subconcentrate reverse flotation were pulp pH=11.3, starch dasage of600g/t,CaO dasage of800g/t,sodium oleate dasage of300g/t. Under the optimal process of reverse flotation,one rouger-one scanvenger-two cleaners open-circuit flotation test obtained the concentrate with the iron grade of53.95%and recovery of38.54%. Close-circuit flotation test obtained the concentrate with the iron grade of52.77%and recovery of42.08%. This test based on the tailings of Luoci Iron Mine, examined the properties and composition of the iron tailings and carried out mineral processing test.Finally,the the classification-gravity separation-reverse flotation process flowsheet was recommended as the recycle ironprocess of tailings of Luoci Iron Min. This text research provides praetieal references for recycle iron from same type iron tailings.
