With the rapid progress in productive forces and technology, some means of production, especially the oil energy are significantly reduced. In order to alleviate the current energy pressures our country is faced with, looking for efficient, clean alternative energy is imperative. Because of much excellent performance, methanol gasoline has caused great concern by researchers of different countries. In this thesis, some of the main problems that exist in the use of methanol gasoline are set as a starting point. Through a large number of experimental studies, economic and efficient additives are selected. They are used to make up stable middle proportion methanol gasoline with good adaptability.(1) First, methanol and gasoline are partly soluble and water may affect its stability. To solve this problem, fuel oil micro-emulsion technology is used. Thus stability additives (mainly composed of emulsifier and co-solvent) are got. After this, methanol gasoline and a small amount of water can be well mixed. With the help of HLB value theory, the composite emulsifier system"oleic acid/op-10"is selected. The co-solvent is straight-chain octanol. The optimum volume ratio between them is from1:1to2:1. Then, the stability of the methanol gasoline microemulsion is analyzed. Firstly, it is observed by stewing and centrifugation. After that, the particle size of the microemulsion is tested. The results show that, after adding additives, methanol and gasoline show good solubility and can be very stable with certain moisture.(2) During use, methanol gasoline will corrode some metals that are in contact with. To solve this problem, a comprehensive corrosion inhibitor is selected and compunded by corrosion test. The corrosion inhibitor consists of benzotriazole, aniline and imidazoline. The mass ratio and dosage are:4:1:1and0.25g/L. By calculating the rate of corrosion and observing surface condition with scanning electron microscopy, the corrosion inhibition effect is quite good. That is to say, the crrosion of the metal material is reduced. During use, methanol gasoline will destroy the rubber that is in contact with.To solve this problem, a comprehensive swelling inhibitor is selected and compunded through rubber immersion test. The swelling inhibitor consists of propiolic alcohol, lauryl alcohol and dioctyl phthalate. The mass ratio is2:1:2and the dosage is2%in volume.(3) Methanol gasoline may cause evaporation deviation problems. To solve this problem, the distillation range of methanol gasoline is tested in the laboratory environment. After adding2%to4%ethyl tertiary butyl ether in volume, its evaporation is improved. So it is difficult to produce vapor lock. (4) Finally, all of additives got from the previous experiments are added into methanol gasoline. After mixing, its property and performance are tested. Major technical indicators and emission performance are included. The results show that the methanol gasoline can meet the requirements of vehicles. It not only shows economical performance, but also helps reduce environmental pollution.
