In order to further investigate the principle and influence factors of MC nylonpolymerization,and improve the performance of MC nylon, the conditions of thesynthesis of MC nylon process were studied in this theme. The attapulgite was usedto modify MC nylon and the MC nylon/attapulgite composite materials were preparedby static-casting. The structure and properties of the composites were tested.Specificcontent is as follows:Considering the several main factors of the MC nylon polymerization,suchas:polymerization temperature, the amount of catalyst and activator.Under the existingexperimental conditions,MC nylon polymerization technology was studied.MC nylon was prepared by anionic polymerization methods,the mechanicalproperties of MC nylon samples were tested to find out the best synthetic processconditions of MC nylon and ultimately determine the optimal polymerization processof MC nylon.The result shows that when the amount of catalyst and activator is1.1‰,polymerization temperature is175℃, the comprehensive performance of MC nylonis optimum.The MC nylon/attapulgite composite materials were prepared when theattapulgite was used as auxiliary,the mechanical properties and thermal stability,melting and crystallization properties of composite materials were tested,the effect ofthe modified attapulgite in MC nylon were tested.The result shows that:Comparedwith pure MC nylon, the tensile strength and bending strength of composite materialsare increased, but the effect is not obvious, the impact strength of compositesdecreased, melting point decreased,thermal stability improved.The surface of attapulgite was modified by the silane coupling agent (KH570),the performance changes of attapulgite after be modified by the silane coupling agent(KH570) was researched,and the MC nylon/attapulgite composite materials wereprepared by anionic in-situ polymerization method.The mechanics performance,thermal performance, etc of composite materials were studied.By FTIR and TG analysis, determining the coupling agent to achieve the effect of modification on thesurface of attapulgite.FTIR showed that: the basic skeleton of attapulgite absorbingpeak did not change,but the silane coupling agent changed the surface properties ofattapulgite,chemical reaction happened between Silane coupling agent (KH570) andattapulgite surface. The mechanical properties of composite materials increasedWhen the attapulgite surface was modified by coupling agent,especially when theaddition amount of attapulgite was3%, the impact strength of composite material was9.47KJ/m2, increased by6.3%compared with the pure MC nylon (8.91KJ/m2). thechange of melting point of composite materials is not big when the attapulgite wasmodified or not.The polyurethane was prepared by castor oil as the raw materials.The surface ofattapulgite was modified by the polyurethane. The effect of modification wasresearched.The MC nylon/attapulgite composite materials were prepared by anionicin-situ polymerization method.The mechanical properties, thermal properties andcrystallization and melting properties of composite materials were studied.Comparedthe FTIR graph between attapulgite and modified attapulgite,on the FTIR graph ofmodified attapulgite,appeared the polyurethane characteristic peak,besides theattapulgite characteristic peak.The mechanical properties of composites wereimproved,when the addition amount of attapulgite was3%, the impact strength ofcomposite material was10.06KJ/m2, increased by12.9%compared with the pure MCnylon (8.91KJ/m2).With the addition of modified attapulgite increasing, theperformance of the thermal stability of composite materials were improved,when theaddition amount of attapulgite was1%、3%,the10%weight loss temperature of thecomposite material increased of about10℃,25℃.Compared with pure MC nylon, themelting peak and area melting point of composite materials reduced.It showed that theaddition of attapulgite hindered the crystalline perfection of composites, but thecrystallization temperature of composite materials increased.
