Through the study on the characteristics and the evolution process of the spatial structure of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, this paper aims to provide certain reference for the space layout planning of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. With the method of the accessibility, it attempts to improve the classical study model of spatial structure and to update the traditional theoretical factors of spatial structure. Above are the purposes of this paper.Take154towns of this region as the basic research units and based on the measurement of accessibility, this paper analyzes the characteristics of the spatial correlation and reveals the spatial structure’s evolution of this region since1995. Then, based on the comparison of these conclusions and the overall planning of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, it puts forward suggestions to the spatial structure planning of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.By means of the time cost weighted raster algorithm, it calculates the accessibility of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and analyzes the evolution of the spatial structure of the accessibility of it in the year of1995,2003and2011from the following two aspects. Under the regional perspective, it comes to a conclusion that the regional accessibility improves overall, with internal differences on the degree of the improvement. From the point of view on the accessibility between towns, it draws conclusions that the accessibility increases, the structure of accessibility improves, and the number of towns that can be reached to each other within one day increases. Based on the accessibility of spatial weight matrix, the adjacency of spatial weight matrix and the inverse distance of spatial weight matrix respectively, the conclusion is carried out that the accessibility of spatial weight matrix can better fit the reality. Thus, it selects the accessibility of spatial weight matrix to calculate the Local Moran’s I coefficient which reflects the spatial distribution of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region with different economic development characteristics. It studies on the economic space links of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region with the application of the gravity model and the field model that are modified by means of accessibility. The features of economic links between towns are reflected in two aspects of economic flow rate and flow direction. On the flow rate, it reflects a shift from a balanced situation to a dramatic gathered situation, with Beijing and Tianjin as the cores, and Shijiazhuang and Tangshan as the secondary. On the flow direction, the structure of one axis and two bands becomes obvious, namely, the Beijing-Tianjin development axis, Bohai sea economic zone and Tangshan-Beijing-Shijiazhuang-Handan area. The conclusions of this paper on the spatial structure of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region are in accordance with Wu Liangyong’s and the Xiao Jincheng’s planning scheme, and it puts forward suggestions to the spatial structure planning of this region, reflecting that the analysis of the spatial structure of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region based on the accessibility has the guiding significance in reality.
