With the rapid development of modern interconnected power system, the requirements of the modern grid power system stability is increasingly high demand, Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) technology provides a new way for the controllability and the stability of the power system, it has become the topics at the forefront of the power system studies in recent years. SVC and TCSC are the most widely used FACTS devices. The interaction studies of FACTS devices is still in its infancy, to explore the new method of the interaction between FACTS devices and to achieve the coordinated control of FACTS devices, which is of great significance to improve the level of stable operation of the power system.Two area and four machine system model with SVC and TCSC has been built, designed the additional damping controller SVC, real-time digital simulation system RTDS simulation study two compensation device alone compensation in the power system, and the effection on the stability of power system stability when they are used interactively; and low-frequency oscillation suppression effect when power system occurs low frequency oscillation.RTDS simulation studies have shown that, SVC has a relatively fast response speed and stronger regulation ability, according to the change of system reactive power it can quickly issued and absorb reactive power, to achieve the purpose of the stabilization system voltage; additional damping controller SVC well suppress low-frequency oscillation. TCSC can change its impedance rapidly according to the system changes, can effectively restrain the power oscillation, to improve the power transmission and system stability. the interaction of SVC and TCSC increases with both decrease of electrical distance and load increased, select the appropriate installation site both simultaneously control power frequency overvoltage in case of system failure, on the stability of the whole system performance is significantly effective control.
