The weight of car is the most important reason for fuel consumption. However the light car is the pursuit of a lot of the FSAE team. But lose the car weight will cause great threaten for the safety and stability of the car. The aerodynamic effect will decrease adhesions which under the condition of high speed. The car will sway or slip when the friction of tires with the ground reduced.In this paper, main work contents are as follows.The present situation of the application of CFD was discussed which on the racing car at home and abroad. And introduce the basic theory of CFD.Because the rules of competition make the change to the vehicle structure is not easy. So adding the empennage on the car is a good choice. At last making sure the empennage structure by looking for a large number of data and simulating the car, And analyzing the different profile in this paper. The tail structure can make full use of the surrounding air of vehicle.The work of this paper is mainly composed of the simulation. Combined with the basic theory of CFD, establish three-dimensional model and mesh by ICEM software. Showing and analyzing by post-processing software fluent. Analyzing of flow field and flow field of the tail. To make comparison the flow field of adding tail car and without tail car. Compared influences to single and double tail for under pressure of vehicle. Through the above work, make sure the last vehicle optimization scheme that suitable for FSAE and aerodynamic advantage into full play.
