Japan is China’s neighbors, since the Meiji Restoration, Japan embarked on a road of industrialization. After the end of World War II, the Japanese economy is the miracle of high-speed growth, the level of urbanization is far ahead of China. Therefore, I specifically for this issue in Japan’s major metropolitan area of extensive investigation, in order to be able to grasp the characteristics between the geographical structure of the commuter rail and the largest metropolitan area, thus reasonable to learn from the experience of Japan, to promote China urbanization contribute to a force.Text is divided into three parts, corresponding to the three chapters:The first chapter is the background and overview of the urban development in Japan, mainly on the Japanese cities hollow process, the gradual emergence of the railway toward the outskirts laying, the public along the railway line to the outskirts of migration phenomenon that, as the construction of satellite towns.
