The market demand for construction machinery is increasing rapidly with high-speed development of China’s urbanization. However, as traditional products have become homogeneous, the manufacturers are now focusing on the intellectualization and informatization in construction machinery area. Wireless remote control as an important aspect of information technology can not only enhance the competitiveness of their products, but also provide the operator with the convenience and security. So research and application of wireless remote control technology in the field of construction machinery are necessary and urgent.Based on the development status and the market research of construction machinery remote control device, the paper designs a communication-reliable and feature-rich wireless remote control system. The system uses dual wireless link by redundancy backup to communicate, including433MHz and2.4GHz. And considering the complexity of computing RS error correction code, the system is designed based on Cortex-M4core Kinetis series MCU which has a stronger computing performance.The dual wireless link design of the system solves the problem of unreliable communication which occurs in single wireless link. The system consists of the handheld terminal and the vehicle terminal. The handheld terminal has a wealth of features to ensure the system in a safe control, such as identity verification, fall protection, GPS Ranging, operating data records function, etc. The redundancy design of dual MCU which has a closed-loop feedback detection function guarantees the safety of operation. The emergency stop circuit which has an arbitration mechanism prevents the system from unexpected operating. And different types of the control output interface enhance the versatility of the system.The detail design of the handheld terminal and the vehicle terminal’s hardware platform and software has been completed. And the function and performance of the system have been verified and analyzed, which basically achieve the desired design target.
