With the rapid development of social economy,mobile cranes are widelyused in various fields.Whether in construction sites, highway and rail,manufacturing companies,freight station,or port terminals as well as offshoreoil platforms the figure of mobile lifting machinery can be saw. On the one handis to ensure the safety of mobile cranes telescopic boom operation in theproduction process,the other is the development of recycling economy,makingeconomical use of resources to maximize economic benefits, so the lifeassessment of the life cycle is imperative to remanufacture and reuse thetelescopic booms which are about to fail. Fatigue damage is one of the maincauses of damage to the mechanical parts,so the life assessment to mobilecranes telescopic boom can provide a reference for the life of remanufacturing.First,The stress analysis about the structure of mobile cranes are calculatedfrom from strength,stiffness and stability to determine the minimum failurecriteria under different conditions. The software is programmed basing on VC++to analyse the strength,stiffness and stability under different conditions quicklyand easily.Second,Carring the APDL of ANSYS software achieve the parametricmodeling of mobile crane boom. For example three telescopic boom,were usedthe beam and shell elements to model and analysis it using ANSYS software,comparing the calculating results. Finally the telescopic boom models which areanalyzed by ANSYS software under different conditions with results which arecalculated by VC++programmed is compared.And further,As the fatigue life divided into crack initiation stage of fatiguelife and crack propagation stage,So the nominal stress method,damagemechanics method and local stress-strain method are used to calculate thefatigue crack initiation stage,then calculate fatigue crack propagation stageusing fatigue life formula which is derivede by Miner fatigue cumulative andfracture mechanics, and finally the curve which different initial crackcorresponding residual fatigue life is drew.Finally,Basing on the results of fatigue life,a full life-cycle cost assessment model to mobile cranes telescopic boom is established. From anview point of economic consider remanufacturing and exchanging new which ismore reasonable to provide a reference of economy for the remanufacturing andto achieve resource utilization and economic benefits maximize.
