Energy saving is one of the themes in our times, which has been deeplyrooted into our lives. The car is a means of transport for people’s daily life, andits energy saving analysis has long been a research focus for the automotiveindustry. In this background, the Chinese energy-saving athletics competition isproposed, which has become a platform combining theory with practice forcollege students for many years. This thesis is based on China’s energy athletic contest and fuel competitiveas a starting point to analyze the impact of several major vehicle assemblysystem on car fuel consumption characteristics, and lightweight chassis andbody air resistance is minimized as the two key points for the paper, which isused to do some basic research from theory to actual combat for the design ofenergy-efficient car.In this study, firstly we discuss overall design idea and influencing factorsof fuel consumption, and do research on a frame system based on lightweightgoals. The major work is by means of Mechanical and Workbench software forcar rack system to complete the simulation analysis and design optimizationbased on finite element strength. The second part of the work done in this paper is aerodynamic analysis onenergy car body. the finite volume method and Gambit software for modeling ofthe body is used, and the Fluent fluid analysis system for analysis of bodyaerodynamics based simulation is also employed to realize an objective ofstreamlined body design minimizing air resistance.Theoretical simulation and actual athletics have proved lightweight chassisand body streamlines are two important fulcrums of energy saving oncompetitive racing.
