Objective: Malignant tumor is seriously threatening people’s health. Themethods of treating malignant tumor include operation, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, traditional Chinese medicine therapy andbiotherapy, etc. Malignant tumor and its treatment will harm immune system. Asa result, a constant attention to the patients’ immune system and theenhancement of its function is necessary during treatment. Based on the methodstaken to strengthen immunity, this research selected100cases of malignant tumor, respectively giving sole CIK treatment, CIK with thymopeptide treatment and CIKwith body-function-improving traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment.Three aspects were observed including changes of T-lymphocyte subgroups, lifequality before and after the treatment and the difference of T-lymphocyte ofdifferent groups.Method: A retrospective analysis about100in-hospital cases between2010and2012was conducted. For all the patients taking CIK as a basic treatment, a sampleof50ml peripheral blood was taken, from which nucleated cells were separated.After14days of culturing with the combined stimulation of multi-factors, theincreased cells were implanted back to the patients. The100cases were dividedinto comparing group (34), giving CIK for2cycles; immune group (30), duringCIK giving10mg thymopentin injection once per day or thymosin1.6mg2timesper week, with a length of14days2cycles in total; TCM group (36), duringCIK giving body-function-improving TCM for14days2cycles in total. Databasewas created by spss17.0to observe the changes of T-lymphocyte subgroup (CD3,CD4, CD8, CD4/CD8), life quality before and after the treatment and thedifference of T-lymphocyte of different groups. Result:1. CD3had no obvious change in the three groups.2. CD4of the immune group and TCM group had an obvious increase after thetreatment.3. CD8of the three groups all had an obvious reduction.4. CD4/CD8of the three groups ascended greatly.5. KPS scores of the three groups had an increase after the treatment comparingwith the previous data, but without any statistical difference. Of theincreased amplitude, the TCM group had an obvious rising tendency.6. Among the four elements of gender, age, malignant tumor and KPS score, theelements of gender and age did not influence the T-lymphocyte subgroup levelin the peripheral blood, but patients with malignant tumors had a lower CD3level than patients without ones (P<0.05). Patients with a KPS<60had lowerCD3and CD4levels than those with KPS≥60. The comparative differences ofthe two are obvious (P<0.05).Conclusion:The combined treatment of body-function-improving TCM and CIKenhances the immune function of patients with malignant tumor, improves the lifequality of the patients and has a certain tutorial significance in clinicaltherapy.
