Zhang Zhongjing, who was the eastern Han dynasty traditional chinese medicine physician, had pioneered many kinds of therapy of traditional chinese medicine, founded the syndrome differentiation and made the chinese medicine theory, treatment, prescriptions, drug into an organic whole. The book "Treatise On Febrile And Miscellaneous Diseases", which was written by Zhang Zhongjing, had used diaphoresis method, emesis method, harmonizing method, purgative method, warming method, heat-clearing method, tonifying method, elimination method and external therapy. All this had set the foundations for the later development of traditional chinese medicine. Zhang Zihe, who was one of the four eminent physicians in the Jin and Yuan dynasties, had great contribution in medical domain. He not only had a high attainments in using diaphoresis method, emesis method and purgative method, but also extended the three methods in clinical application. To begin with diaphoresis method, emesis method and purgative method, this thesis mainly discuss what aspects Zhang Zihe inherited and developed Zhang Zhongjing’s academic thought in using the three methods. The first part of the thesis introduce Zhang Zihe’s life and his major work "Ru Men Shi Oin". The main content in tis part is Zhang Zihe’s biography; the relationship between his book and his disciple, as well as the structure and the version of "Ru Men Shi Qin"The second part discuss the similarities and differences between Zhang Zhongjing and Zhang Zihe in using diaphoresis method. Zhang Zihe inherited and innovated Zhongjing’s diaphoresis method academic thought. Like Zhang Zhongjing, Zhang Zihe used Ephedra decoction for table empirical, Guizhi decoction for table deficiency syndrome. Zhang Zihe’s slight sweating method was inherit Zhongjing’s academic thought. In addition, he enriched the content of the sweating methods, such as, he thought cold medication and excreting dampness moisture medication belongs to diaphoresis method, he used external therapy to diaphoresis very effective. In addition, Zhang Zihe pointed out that moxibustion steaming, smoked washing, ironing, flipping, guidance, massage belonged to diaphoresis method category. The third part of this thesis contrast the similarities and differences between Zhang Zihe and Zhang Zhongjing in using emesis method, Zhang Zihe followed Zhang Zhongjing’s principles and applications academic thought of emesis method. His emetic prescriptions also follow Zhang Zhongjing’s Gua Di powder. Zhang Zihe broke the law that using emetic therapy to treat the disease above chest and diaphrame, he used emetic therapy aiming at make the Qi function clear and orderly. By using emetic therapy, he aimed at makeing the Qi function clear and orderly. In addition, he often applied external treatment to vomit. Zhang Zhongjing only used drug to vomit, Zhang Zihe thought Spitting salivary, sneezing, sheding tears were aslo emetic therapy. Emetic method easy to hurt the body, so for the reluctance to accept emetic method patients, Zhang Zihe did not use this method. Zhang Zihe aslo pay attention to nurse patient after emetic. The fourth part of the thesis introduce what aspects Zhang Zihe inherited and innovated Zhongjing’s purgative method academic thought. Zhang Zhongjing established more than30purgative drugs prescription, among them, there were14classical prescriptions and its add and subtract prescriptions included in "Ru Men Shi Qin". Zhang Zihe said that hasten parturition and actagogue method, remove stagnant and hydragogue method, making the menstruation unobstructed and Qi activity downward method were all called purgative method. In Zhang Zihe’s wiew, whatever making the down effect methods were called the purgative method. He thought both typhoid and miscellaneous diseases, both cold evil and heat evil, as long as the lower gastrointestinal evil real indicates lag, can use purgative method. He also thought that purgative method’s mechanism of action is making the body to a new state and making Qi and blood circulation. In addition, he also argued that purgative method is tonifying method, it can make the bowel clean, qi and blood flowing, It’s the so called "The loss of not enough"The fifth part of the thesis tease out36Zhang Zhongjing’s classical prescriptions and its add and subtract prescriptions from "Ru Men Shi Qin". There are58consilas classical prescriptions in212consilas of "Ru Men Shi Qin". From Zhang Zihe’s application of ephedra decoction, Gua Di scattered, Da Chengqi decoction, Wu Ling powder, Bai Hu decoctionand, from those consilas, we can see Zhang Zihe not only kept governance of Zhong Zhongjing’s rule, but aslo flexible application. Thus, his academic thought is inherited and developed Zhongjing’s academic thought.
