A Theoretical Study Based On The Law Of The Golden Chamber

Purgative method, one of TCM eight therapeutic methods include sweat, vomit, purgation, harmony, warmness, clearness, supplement and elimination, there has a lot of records and discussions on it in ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine. This paper regards ’purgative method’as the outline, adopts the method of document research, based on the Synopsis of Golden Chamber, carries through extraction, summary and induction on recorded syndromes, therapeutic principles, prescriptions and so on about purgative method, studies each medical science’s documents about purgative method from the Qin Dynasty up to now, generalizes and summarizes the application and development of purgative method theory, explores academic thoughts of Zhongjing ’purgative method’application combined with the proven cases of experts in later ages, aims to reveal the academic thoughts of Zhongjing about purgative method’s diagnosis and treatment in disease therapy hoping to have certain reference for diagnosis and treatment of clinical diseases in modern traditional Chinese medicine.This paper adopts the method of document research and is divided into eight parts. The first part is literature review. The author gathers more than 30 articles since 1980 about Zhongjing purgative method, analyzes and tidies up document literature about purgative method in modern clinical application, clears up and summarizes the application of purgative method in today’s clinical medical department, surgery, gynecology and pediatrics department and innovative use progress of some purgative method prescriptions. The author also reviews modern literature research and clinical application of Zhongjing purgative method.In the second part, from tracing the origin of purgative method in Yellow Emperor, then to Zhongjing create a dialectical application purgative method, they promote the formation of Chinese medicine purgative method theory system. The author combs the inheritance and development of generations of physicians on Zhongjing purgative method theory, studies and discusses the history and development of Zhongjing purgative method.In the third part, on the basis of history of Zhongjing purgative method, the author carries through summary and induction on record of purgative method in ancient books, by means of extraction and summary, discusses the definition of purgative method in narrow and broad senses.In the fourth part, the author extracts, concludes, classifies and sums up relevant regulations of purgative method in Zhongjing Synopsis of Golden Chamber, divides purgative method in Synopsis of Golden Chamber into nine categories including cold diarrhea, warm purgation, mild laxation, removing indigestion of drastic purgation, eliminating blood stasis by catharsis, eliminating fluid intake by catharsis, promoting circulation and freeing interior, relieving exterior syndrome and freeing interior, reconciliation and freeing interior. The author lists related provisions and prescriptions in each category in detail, from aspects of analysis of relevant syndromes, therapeutic principles and methods, composition and compatibility, outcome of prescription and others, combined with Zhongjing’s inheritance and development of purgative method recorded in ancient documents, expounds the application and clinical significance of purgative method in Synopsis of Golden Chamber.In the fifth part, the author lists taboos of using purgative method and deteriorated cases caused by errant purgation in Zhongjing Synopsis of Golden Chamber one by one and explores the causes, summarizes methods of preventing purgative method injuring positive. The author points out that the application of purgative method should be timely and appropriate, avoid damaging human body due to improper purgative method application, these have positive significance in the proper application of purgative method in clinic.The sixth part will delve into the theory and application of purgative method in Zhongjing Synopsis of Golden Chamber from three aspects including application principles, application characteristics of purgative method in Synopsis of Golden Chamber, and common drugs of purgative method prescription. The author takes ’tapping its income’as purgative method’s application principle; being divided into clearness, cold, heat, emptiness and solidness, discerning disease position, considering and protecting Yin and Yang, and spleen and stomach, capitalizing on the rend, taking exterior-interior resolving into account are application characteristics of purgative method; starting from representative drugs and prescription of purgative method, through careful and detailed comparison and analysis, the author then explores different effects of these drugs in different prescriptions, and medication features and disciplines of Zhongjing purgative method.In the seventh part, by means of analyzing and clearing up many famous doctors’ medical cases, the author chooses part of proved cases of Liu Duzhou who is a great master in medicine and others on the application of Zhongjing purgative method to clinic in order to clarify the guiding significance of Zhongjing purgative method in clinical application.The eighth part summarizes the whole paper.Purgative method is a method of treatment using prescriptions with conduction, moving water, removing blood stasis and other effects so as to achieve the purpose of removing pathogenic factors out. In modern complicated medical environment, combined with the public opinion that some media and network excessively advertise and exaggerate therapeutic effect of tonifying method, using purgative method with bitter cold and severe drug is often ignored in treatment and prevention of clinical diseases, cannot play its role well. Based on the Synopsis of Golden Chamber, the paper systematically studies the historical evolution and theory development of Zhongjing purgative method nowadays, analyzes and discusses diagnosis and treatment characteristics of purgative method, composition and compatibility regularity of prescriptions and clinical application hoping to have some benefits in further enriching the theory of purgative method, expanding the application of purgative method in disease prevention and treatment, and improving clinical curative effect, etc.
