"Seven States Personality Questionnaire" And Measurements

Ego state theory is the theoretical basis of Transactional Analysis (TA), which is a characteristic personalitytheory. The TA analyst, Bob, proposed that ego states can be divided into two categories, respectivelyfunctional and dysfunctional. Each category can be further divided into seven types. These ego states arecorresponding by one to one. Based on the Bob’s functional model of ego states, this research aims to explorethe personality structure under the background of Chinese culture and to develop and measure the seven statesof personality questionnaire.The research includes three parts. The first part is the qualitative study of seven states of personality, whichis conducted by the literature analysis, interview, and open questionnaire survey to collect data. Then thesedata is coded according to grounded theory. Based on these, researchers construct the model of seven states ofpersonality under the background of Chinese culture, and develop the initial version of seven states ofpersonality questionnaire. The second part is to test the reliability and validity of seven states of personalityquestionnaire. Researchers used seven states of personality questionnaire to measure a lot of teachers. Afteritem analysis, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, researchers determined thereliability and validity of the questionnaire and formed the official version of seven states of personalityquestionnaire. The third part is the characteristics study of seven states of personality. By seven states ofpersonality questionnaire, researchers examined the seven states of personality characteristics in teachers.The results of this investigation:1) Under the background of Chinese culture, ego states can be divided into two categories, respectivelyfunctional and dysfunctional.
