<Xi Yi Meng>,which is also as known as <Hai Guo Chun Qiu>.It’s a characteristic novelwriting about a dream and its design is elegant. It’s said that there were two leadingcharacters,Lvqiu Zhongqing and Han Su. Their desire, revived the Later Zhou Dynasty, whichwas hopeless. They went in abode of fairies and immortals of Xi Yi, by the leading of Xi Yi’sdisciple, Wu Huai. They fell asleep when they slept on the bed which was made of stone. In thedream, they made an achievement, worked for the country for more than50years. When theywaked up, they found that they had already slept more than300days, the reality had already wentthrough more than300years! They exclaimed over that all the things wad just imaginary. So theybecame Taoist priest.The fabled sea-country insinuated the truth of Qing Dynasty. The leading characters achievedthree immortal deeds of Confucianism. They helped the writer realized the dream about fame andwealth.This thesis’s research technique is Literature Survey, Holistic approach, comparative analysis.This thesis will research the novel from these parts—writer, editions, the main ideas, artisticcharacteristics, influence.This thesis divides into4parts.Part1: writer and editions. This thesis gets through related document literature, which we canunderstand the writer and the editions in depth.Part2: the main ideas. This novel exposes the truth by means of building up a sea-country. Atthe same time, it stands out the main ideas of advising to be good and penalize the vicious,retribution for sin, approving of Confucianism and fight against Buddhism.Part3: artistic characteristics. This thesis will research the novel from the next5sides—theart of narrate, analyze the design, analyze the personalities of the characters, the art of portrayingart, language arts.Part4: influence. This novel has influence. The novel <Travel In The Sea>,imitates its designand circumstances. In the meanwhile,<Xi Yi Meng>, some of its circumstances, copy <Romanceof the Three Kingdoms>.Its language is verbose, and so on.
