As an internationalism and developed curriculum, International Baccalaureate (abbrevavited for IB) is more and more well known by Chinese educators. They began to research this curriculum in succession. IB program is different from any other country-based curriculum, it merges various educational characteristics all over the world and seeks for international and extensive education. Therefore, IB curriculum mission contents and assessment are highly valued by educators.After several years of developing, IB music has formed completed assessments. Set Shanghai High School International Divison as an example, this thesis focus on the research of practical approaches and experiences. It summarizes the characteristics of external and internal assessment, that is:opened external assessment, process-aim internal assessment and strict feedback system. From studying these characteristics, we can get revelation about the approach using the external and internal assessment in the teaching and planning. Furthermore, these methods and ideas may be applied by the school which has offered or will offer IB music.
