Jane Eyre is a classic work of British Famous writer Charlotte Bronte. It has beenwarmly loved by the public since it was released. Charlotte creates a pale, short, plainfemale heroine who is brave to pursue free living, independent character and equalaffection. She signals against old custom suppressing female and unreasonable socialregime with this female image.Although Jane Eyre is a realistic work, it is filled with romantic legend. It couldbe attributed to massive dream writing techniques which are used by Charlotte.Based on the writer’s statistics, a total of71times the word dream appears in thework and36times for the word fantasy.This article employs the approach of reading attentively through the book andthe dream theory of Freud and Jung to dissect the dreams in the work. This paper isdivided into five chapters. The first chapter makes a classification on the overalldreams in the work, paving the way for the following analysis. In the second chapter,I try to write form the perspective of dream’s writing purpose. I take a detailed lookat the dreams to explain the function of dream. The third chapter explains the artisticfeature and creation way of dreams. In the fourth chapter, I elaborate the narrativeperspective and expression way of the dream. The fifth chapter analyzes therelationship between realistic literature and dream. Meanwhile I also analyze theimpact romantic literature has on Charlotte. Consequently, I make a conclusion thatCharlotte is a realistic writer with romantic factor.
