Words Hegel Music Aesthetics Study Of The Relationship Theory

Hegel was an encyclopedic scholar in German classical philosophy. With Hegel’sAesthetics as the object of the research, this dissertation will focus on Hegel’s musicaesthetic about the relation of lyrics and music. It also deals with the content andvalue of Hegel’s theory on the relation of lyrics and music.The main body of this dissertation is divided into four parts. In the introduction,explanations are given for the motivation, objective and main structure. Chapter One,the literature review. The author will sketch and analyse previous research, anddivide them into four parts, which are Hegel’s philosophy、Hegel’s aesthetic、Hegel’s music aesthetic and the research of Western theory on the relation of lyrics andmusic. In Chapter Two，the author will discuss Hegel’s theory on the relation of lyricsand music in two parts. Starting with a summary on Hegel’s music theory frommacroscopic methodology, the author will analyse the contradiction and relation oflyrics and music, aiming to examine its’essence. Chapter Three，it is the author’sappraisal of Hegel’s theory on the relation of lyrics and music.Chapter Two andChapter Three complement each other. In Chapter Three, the author has aunderstanding of the value of Hegel’s theory on the relation of lyrics andmusic,discusses the limit of the theory, and analyse the theory’s implications formusic activity, to find the essence of the theory.In the new times, Hegel’s theory came up again, which doesn’t mean that wejust parrot the theory. As a part of Hegel’s music theory, the theory on the relation oflyrics and music has its’ extra meaning of the times. Meanwhile, the vast scope anddeep understanding of the relatioin, as well as its’ signifiance deserve our deepthinking. Thus the author focus on the Hegel’s theory on the relation of lyrics andmusic to hold his viewpoint more clearly.
