Video art is a common aesthetic way, which has its unique rules and expression.From theAuguste Marie Louis Nicholas’s black-and-white films to the emergence ofthe first natural color film and from the Daguerre’s invention of the silver version formaking a piece of black and white photos to the emergence of the first color image,black-and-white image and color image are developing with their advantages in thefield of visual art. Because of the culture diversity, each nation has differentunderstanding of the color. The appearance of color image has attracted the attentionof many people. However, black-and-white image draws the attention of youngpeople just for its simple color and light.From the darkroom techniques film to the digital imaging, black-and-whiteimage has experienced a long and tortuous developing process. People love and can’tbear to part it, which still has its unique artistic charm. However, due to thecharacteristics of its abstract and colorlessness, there are less people keen onblack-and-white image space. How to break through the traditional pattern of blackand white image and explore the way of digital black-and-white image transmission isan important breakthrough to broaden its space of development.In the analysis of the art of monochrome cultural connotation and aesthetic, thispaper puts forward some suggestions for future development: the first is that we canget rid of the imaging time of black–and-white image in a clever way to improve theeffectiveness of black–and-white image. The second is that the traditional print mediashould strengthen regulation from the photography typesetting to the printing in orderto improve the quality of black-and-white image.
