Chinese painting pay attention to using line and color. Color is the first language of visual in paintings, and also one of most important elements in expression. Chinese painting has a unique color manifestations, according to He Xie,"coloring by Categories" is not only the principles of Chinese painting, but also the aesthetic principles of painters observing images.China is a multi-ethnic family, different ethnic costumes in shape, color have their own characteristics, and we can see the aesthetic ideas or religious belief from their costumes. Every ethnic group has their own color preferences, and the colors are also closely linked with their lives. According to historical records, Yao prefer colorful and gorgeous clothes, and using it to show their ethnic characteristics, spread important cultural philosophy, and reflects the ethnic emotional and value.The color of Yao costumes influenced by Chinese traditional culture, philosophy and concept of ethnic aesthetic, and gradually formed a unique clothing characteristic. In this dissertation, I will analysis the evolution and development of painting colors from different era and painter representatives, combined with my own creative analysis of color emotion expression in Yao theme painting. To further elaborating personal emotion expressing and using by Yao’s traditional "colored" theory, also to deepen my own understanding and perception of color.
