Folk Carving Of Flowers Withered

Folk art and craft which acts as the witness of history is the reflection of the state of people’s lives and has a long history. However, after both the industrial and information age, Work done by machines has replaced the traditional production arts, which is aiming for the maximum of benefits as well as efficiency, consequently, a large amount of shoddy craft works emerged. This makes the real folk art and craft marginalized gradually, and the traditional folk artisans are confronted with the hardship for survive. Furthermore, the art skills of these folk artisans are facing the catastrophic loss and lost. This paper mainly focus on folk art and craft techniques, and takes folk stone carving, wood carving and brick carving as example in order to illustrate the decline of the folk carving technologies. The purpose of the criticalness attitude in this paper is regaining the importance of the heritage of folk art and craft techniques as well as call for the protection and restoration of folk arts and crafts.
