| The present paper analyses the techniques used in one of the works of a Polish composer, that is Witold Lutoslawski’s<Mi-parti>. The author differs from the other researchers. Instead of using the analyze method aimed at a certain aspect of the piece, the author chooses to combine rational analysis based on the polish language materials concerning the work of Lutoslawski, and a traditional piece-analyzing method, therefore obtaining a comprehensive analysis of musical form, pitch and tonal structure. The aim of this essay is to describe logical thinking incorporated in the works, as well as describe the development (of the music) and by using a new point of view, to try to obtain a concise understanding of the piece. |
