Study "Departing" Tsinghua Jane

The second volume of the newly published Bamboo Slips Collected by TsinghuaUniversity is called“Xinian繫年”，which is a pre-Qin history book.This article holds theview that Xinian probably is “Zhi志”，at least similar to the literature of “Zhi”，andit may have the character of the teaching materials.Xinian records the historical events of Zhou Dynasty，a lot of information of the textmay be supplements of literatures handed down from ancient times，and parts of thecontents should be related to the Zuozhuan左傳，Guoyu國語，Zhushujinian竹書紀年，etc. Chapter Ⅰ analyzes every chapter of Xinian.Chapter Ⅱ makes a preliminary study of the functional words of Bamboo Slipsabout Xinian Collected by Tsinghua University.It is obvious that the material source of theXinian should be complex. There is a close link between the functional words and times，regions and contents.The records about early Warring States is the most valuable information of Xinian，such as the activities of Yue越in Shandong山東，the construction of the Great Wall of Qi齊，etc.Chapter III of this article makes a specific discussion of the relevant issues.
