Intangible cultural heritage is a kind of ethnic essence that has a regional feature and national style. It is the precious cultural resources we need to protect. China is a multi-ethnic country, and the people of all ethnic groups have their own intangible cultural heritages which are abundant resources for the development of cultural industry in china.The safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage has been a hot topic. There are three main ways of safeguarding the intangible cultural heritage in our country, namely " rescue protection "," overall protection " and " productive protection ". The so-called productive protection is that the intangible cultural heritage can be used as a support to the development of industry. Industrializing intangible cultural heritage could be a positive way of safeguarding the intangible cultural heritage, which is a key point of productive protection. Also, the industrialization of intangible cultural heritage meets the needs of the development of national cultural industry.Re-gong thangka is an typical representative of Tibetan intangible cultural heritage. It has important significance to research on the present situation of industrialization of Re-gong thangka. In this paper, I have analysed the present industrialized situation of Re-gong thangka, using multi-disciplinary theories and methods of economics, ethnology and management science, from the view of productive protection and cultural industry. In the first chapter, I introduced the background and significance of my research, the relevant research on the topic and the research methods, heory and related concepts used in this paper. In the second chapter, I described the Re-gong thangka and its production process in detail and presented a detailed description of current situation of industrialization of the Re-gong thangka. In the third chapter, I discussed the problems of industrialization of Re-gong thangka. In the fourth chapter, I proposed the solution to the problems of industrialization of Re-gong thangka. In the conclusion chapter, I discussed the relationship between the industrialization of intangible cultural heritage and the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage. I came to an conclusion that industrialization of Re-gong thangka should be developed in an sustainable way.
