The seasonal festival is the most dynamic part of chinese traditional culture, which is always in the process of constantly Heritage and Variance. In Northern Song Dynasty, social economic was increasingly prosperous, as well as the Science and Technology was ever-changing, so that it injected into a lot of new content for the seasonal festival, and made festival customs more colorful. However, due to the impact of Western culture, the heritage of traditional festival culture has become obvious fault today. It need us to reflect that how to make the connotation of the traditional festival culture close to people’s lives today, so that the seasonal festival are renewed vigor and vitality.The main intention of this paper is through the introduction of the Northern Song Dynasty Dongj ing’s seasonal festival customs, which consist of content and features, to systematically expounded the Dongjing’s city cityscape, social culture and class structure, thus contributing to a comprehensive understanding of the capital of the Northern Song Dynasty seasonal festival, that including historical development as well as the heritage status, and to lay the foundation for further study about the traditional seasonal festival.The thesis is divided into five chapters. first of all, it is a brief introduction on the reason and meaning of this research topic, this research developments and research methods as well; Chapter one is the overview introduction of the book about Dongjing’s seasonal festival in Northern Song Dynasty-Dongjing meng hua lu; the second chapter is about the context of the times of the Dongjing’s seasonal festival in Northern Song Dynasty;the third chapter elaborate the customs and characteristics of the Dongjing’s seasonal festival in Northern Song Dynasty; the fourth chapter deal with the spatial and temporal structure of the Dongjing’s seasonal festival in Northern Song Dynasty; the fifth chapter reflect on the public sectors of Dongjing’s seasonal festival in Northern Song Dynasty; Finally, it is the reflection about the cultural identity of urban seasonal festival and the heritage of collective memory.
