Yue Zhong Shi Zi was an influential local society of ten poets in the period of Jia Jin, Ming Dynasty. It’s members included Xu Wei, Shen Lian, Chen He, Yang Ke, Zhu Gongjie, Qian Pian, Zhu Dashou, Xiao Mian, Liu Wen and Lv Guangsheng. Shi Zi group originated from Xi Ke Ting Poets Society made up of Shen Lian, Chen He, Liu Wen, Zhu Gongjie, Xiao Mian. Motivated by similar interest and disposition, the ten poets gathered together and founded the society. The years from Jia Jin23rd to25th has witnessed their active socializing and composing in the region of Shao Xing.Xu Wei was the best-known member of the society and related researches about him has recently become popular. However, his role in the society has been overlooked, so attempts are made in this paper to examine Xu Wei and the Society as a whole, so as to reveal the similarities in personality, living state and mind state of the ten poets who were affected by the same regional culture and philosophy. The same inclination in composing, their affinity with the Tang Song Poetic School and their transcendence of the renaissance school are also discussed.The preface is about the value of the research, the current achievements of the task and my approaches. The first chapter focuses on the foundation of the society and the poets’ social network, serving as a base for the following content. How the Yue Zhong regional culture affected the thought and choices of living of the ten poets is discussed in the second chapter. The third chapter is on the poets’background philosophy of conscience and the associated cultural and aesthetical psychology of the poets. The forth chapter reveals the same inclination of the ten poets in composing and some other similarities in poetics. The last chapter introduces the contact between the laurel poets of the Tang Song Poetic School, Tang Sunzhi and Mao Kun and Shi Zi(the ten poets) and then figure out their similar track of changing in poems. Eventually it is concluded that the transcendence of the renaissance poetics of Qian Hou Qi Zi owes to the joint force of Yue Zhong Shi Zi and the Tang Song Poetic School.
