Combining literature textual-distinguishing methods and positive researchmethods, through the research of ‘Ji Gu Yin Zheng’ attached with ‘Yin Zheng FuShuo’, the essay set research to examine sources and creation of Gan Yang’s sealworks and seal theory. The essay speculated that the approximate year of birth anddeath of Gan Yang and his contemporary people who is the subject to those printed,compared and analyzed origin of the after ancient style seals in the collection of hisseals, and analyzed the impact of seal style created by him, with the objectiveevaluation of its carving art achievements. The essay also interpreted the aestheticconcept included in its seal theory in his work ‘Yin Zheng Fu Shuo’, in purpose,through the research on collection of his seals and his seal theory, to reveal thehistorical value of Gan Yang’s works and the key role his works played in thedevelopment of seal carving art during late Ming Dynasty.
