Study On The Artistic Characteristics Of The Qin Seals

In the Spring and Autumn period,the western frontier state of Qin had very little communication with other states.It is precisely because of this relatively single environment that the Qin character are completely different from other divisions.The dignified of the Qin characters and seals is somewhat inconsistent with the strong offensive of Qin State.Therefore,when it tracing the source,the style of the Qin seals is generally a heritage of the Western Zhou culture.On the basis of the research of the Qin characters,the only way to promote the study on the artistic characteristics of the Qin seals,is conducting further study of the Qin seals and characters.When it studying the Qin characters,the scientificity and purity of the ancient characters research should be ensured,which has a guiding significance for the study on the artistic characteristics of the Qin seals.The research objective of the Qin seals including the seal,the mud cap and the pottery inscription from spring and autumn and the warring states period to the Qin Dynasty.The seal and part of the mud cap are main research objectives in this paper,and the pottery inscription is not included temporarily.During the compilation of Seals in Warring States(Domain Sequence)with Prof.Changchun Hu,3140 seals were collected,which including 944 Qin official seals,1887 Qin private seals,309 Qin seals in Ji language and single word seals.On the basis of related Qin characters and 3140 collected Qin seals,the paper conducted a simulation study to the characters,the form,the layout of Qin seals from the perspective of calligraphy and philology.The paper is intended into the promotion of further study on the artistic characteristics of the Qin seals,and the application of the artistic characteristics of the Qin seals on art creation.It is expected to solve the problem of applying the theory of the Qin seals and characters to the practice in the creation of contemporary art.There are five chapters in this paper: introduction,the production and the production method of seals,artistic characteristics of the Qin seals,the enlightenment of Qin seals on art creation and conclusion.Chapter 1(introduction)explains the background of the paper firstly;and then summarizes the current research status of the Qin character,the Qin seal,the Qin mud cap and the Qin pottery inscription;finally,defines the relevant concept and illustrate the reference of original data in this paper.Chapter 2(the production and the production method of seals)illustrates the original and application of seals from historical perspective firstly;and then presents the shape feature of Qin official seals,Qin private seals,Qin seals in Ji language and single word seals by numerous charts;finally,concludes the character characteristic from external shape feature to internal shape feature.Chapter 3(artistic characteristics of the Qin seals)compares the selected single words from five different divisions firstly;and then summarizes regional characteristics of each divisions by selecting typical seals for the overall simulation;finally,it refers to contemporary academic,artistic,and practical achievements,divides Qin seals into 24 styles under the guidance of Twenty-four Paintings by Yue Huang,and enumerate three seals for each style.Chapter 4(the enlightenment of Qin seals on art creation)explores Qin seals and characters in calligraphy creation,which refers to three dimensions: creative brushwork,creative conjunct and creative chapter.Under the instruction of art style and chapter arrangement of Qin seals,it discusses the way in which the Qin characters are printed and the inspiration of the Qin seals and characters on contemporary art creation.Chapter 5(Conclusion)mainly focuses on the author's thoughts on the problems in the study on the artistic characteristics of the Qin seals and further study method of it.
