As language units, quasi-affixes are widely used in Chinese word creations with the vocabulary evolution in recent years. Quasi-affixes are defined because they still have meanings and can be used in defining, categorizing and producing words. As quasi-affixes evolve, they draw the attention of scholars and the studies on quasi-affix prosper are widely spread. However, the studies on quasi-affix mainly focus on this phenomenon or single quasi-affix, without in-depth exploration or comparison. Among all the quasi-affixes, the ones to modify person are dominate and prosper rapidly, so they are worthy of researching. In this thesis, the author cites the four quasi-affixes "Zu","Dang","Mi" and "Kong" as examples and analyzes them in depth and systematically by referring to Chinese dictionary in new version, corpus and corpus on internet. Through the study, the evolution clues differences among quasi-affixes are observed and reasons to their existence are analyzed. Therefore, It is helpful to understand the development of compound words. This thesis can be divided into three parts, which are preface, body and conclusion and the body of thesis are made up by five chapters. The first two chapters are about the studies on the semantic system of four quasi-affixes:"Zu","Dang","Mi" and "Kong". Due to the lack of studies on those four quasi-affixes, the author explores the semantic system by referring to authoritative handbooks. The author summarizes the explanations on those quasi-affixes and explores their use by referring to their examples. With those proofs, the author streamlines the semantic evolution of those quasi-affixes. Through analysis, the author holds that "Mi" is a typical affix that evolves in the development of modern Chinese;"Dang"and "Zu" came into being due to the integration between Chinese and foreign language;"Kong" is a quasi-affix due to other external reasons. In the third chapter, the word formation features of each quasi-affix are analyzed. The author focuses on analyzing the features of "X" in the "X+quasi-affix" model and the grammatical features of relevant word family. Through analysis, much of "X" in several word families has two syllables. Though the "X" in the "X Mi" has two syllables in different kinds of word families, most of "X" only has one syllable judged from the numbers and frequency of them in word families. Because the four quasi-affixes are used to describe person, the words congaing them are nouns with grammatical features of nouns. In the model of "X+quasi-affix", the "X" can be regarded as the vacancy in the word formation model. At last, the author analyze the mode from the perspective of rhetorical word composing, and we think they are made by parody in the way of analogy on the whole,of them, the "X" is formed in different ways, such as synecdoche, allegory and so on.The fourth chapter is about the comparison among the four quasi-affixes in terms of their semantic features, match features and word colors. When comparing semantic features of "Zu" to the features of "Dang","Mi" and "Kong", the author explains their common and different semantic features; In terms of their match features, the author finds "Mi" is different from the affixes "Zu""Dang" and "Kong", which are used to describe person;"Mi" and "Kong" are affix of verbs in nature, which is different from "Dang" and "Zu" with the function of matching with other words. Additionally, the author compares their word colors from their linguistical, emotional, and image colors. In the fifth chapter, the author summarizes how quasi-affixes come into being by explaining the internal and external reasons. The internal reasons include analogy mechanism of language, the economy mechanism of language, the balance mechanism of language. The external reason can be derived from the society development, the effects caused by the social inclusiveness, the drive from new media, the request for newer simpler and different use of word and the language integration.
